Jeff Hart And The Ruins
Jeff Hart and the Ruins were a four-piece Americana and alt.country-styled power pop band composed of Jeff Hart (musician), Brian Yamamoto, Symen Blumenfeld and John Flowers. After 23 years under that name, they became Jefferson Hart & The Ghosts of the Old North State in January 2013. Career Jeff Hart and the Ruins was formed in January 1990 by Jeff Hart, along with bassist Chip Robinson and drummer John Flowers. As with musical predecessors The Byrds, Tom Petty, and The Kinks (Muswell Hillbillies era) and contemporaries like Paul Westerberg and The Jayhawks, the music of the band strays into both the "alt.country" and power pop styles of rock and roll. Don Bailey later joined the original three to round out the first era of the band. The Backsliders
The Backsliders are an alternative-traditional country-rock band. Chip Robinson teamed up with Steve Howell to form the band as a duo in 1991 in Athens, GA. The remaining members had all joined the group by 1994, and the group disbanded in 1999. They reunited in late 2012. Not Lame Recordings was a Ft. Collins, Colorado based independent record label specializing in power pop music. History The label was started by Bruce Brodeen in November 1994Not Lame Recordings (2010)"About us" Retrieved November 17, 2010. ''The Big Takeover'' is a bi-annual music magazine published out of New York City since May 1980 by critic Jack Rabid. History Establishment Jack Rabid and Dave Stein began publishing ''The Big Takeover'' in May 1980 as a fanzine dedicated to New York punk band the Stimulators. The pair had formed a garage band the previous month called Even Worse, originally playing mainly punk rock cover songs. Chip Robinson
Chip Robinson (born March 29, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a retired race car driver. He won the 1987 IMSA Camel GT series championship and the 1987 24 Hours of Daytona (with Al Holbert, Derek Bell, and Al Unser Jr. in a Porsche and the 1989 12 Hours of Sebring (with Arie Luyendyk and Geoff Brabham) in a Nissan. He made five CART starts in 1986 and 1987 with a best finish of 6th at the 1987 Long Beach Grand Prix. He is currently a contractor residing in Augusta, Georgia with his wife and one son who aspires to drive as well. Robinson served as race director of the US Formula 4 championship, a race series to develop young drivers. He previously was race director for the Formula Atlantic, F2000, and F1600 race series. Chris Stamey
Christopher Charles Stamey (born December 6, 1954) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. After a brief time playing with Alex Chilton, as well as Mitch Easter under the name Sneakers, Stamey formed The dB's with Peter Holsapple. Early life Stamey was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States. He grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School. Career In 1977, Stamey founded the independent New York City record label, Car Records, which released the 1978 Chris Bell single with the tracks "I Am The Cosmos" and "You And Your Sister". Stamey recorded and released two critically acclaimed albums with The dB's, '' Stands for Decibels'' (1981) and '' Repercussion'' (1982), which were initially only released in the UK, before leaving the band to pursue a solo career.
