Jeffrey Roy Hammond (born 19 April 1950) is a former Australian cricketer who played in five Test matches and one One Day International in 1972 and 1973. A fast bowler, Hammond was described as having "raw pace, a great short ball and an ability to swing it away late from the right-handers." Hammond made his first-class cricket debut for South Australia in 1969 and was included in the Australian squad for the 1972 Ashes tour of England, where he played his sole One Day International, taking 1/41. Hammond kept his place in the Australian squad picked for the tour of the West Indies, where, in the absence of the injured Dennis Lillee, he made his Test debut. The role of Hammond and his opening bowling partner Max Walker has been listed as a key factor in Australia's surprise series victory. Jeffrey L. Hammond (born September 9, 1956) is an American NASCAR personality and crew chief. Currently, he is a commentator for NASCAR's coverage on Fox Sports. He is also referred to as Hollywood Hammond by his Fox colleague Darrell Waltrip. He is an alumnus of East Carolina University. In addition to his work at Fox, Hammond also serves as the crew chief in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for Clay Greenfield Motorsports and their No. 68 truck. He formerly was a co-owner (along with business executive Tom DeLoach) of Red Horse Racing, a Truck Series racing team which operated from 2005 to 2017. Jeffrey Hammond (born 30 July 1946), often known by his former stage name Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond, is an artist and retired musician best known for being the bassist of progressive rock band Jethro Tull from 1971 to 1975. With Jethro Tull, Hammond played on some of the band's most successful and well-known albums, including '' Aqualung'' (1971) and ''Thick as a Brick'' (1972). Hammond adopted the name "Hammond-Hammond" as a joke, since both his father's surname and mother's maiden name were the same. Jeffery W. Hammond (born January 25, 1959) is a retired United States Army officer who previously served as the commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division and commander of U.S. forces in Baghdad, Iraq. Early life Hammond attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, receiving bachelor's and master's degrees in special education. He was a quarterback and captain for the USM football team. Military career Hammond was commissioned as a second lieutenant of field artillery in 1978. He was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany, where he advanced to command of a battery. He returned to the U.S. to take the Infantry Officer Advanced Course at Fort Benning, Georgia.
