Jeff Cornell
Jeffery Ray Cornell (born February 10, 1957) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. He played during the season at the major league level for the San Francisco Giants. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 8th round of the 1978 draft. Cornell played his first professional season with their Rookie League Gulf Coast League Royals in 1978. He was traded to the Giants in 1982. Cornell played his last season with the Chicago Cubs' Triple-A team, the Iowa Cubs, in 1986. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
