Jedi Master Yoda
Yoda () is a fictional Character (arts), character in the ''Star Wars'' universe, first appearing in the 1980 film ''The Empire Strikes Back''. He is a small, green humanoid alien who is powerful with Force (Star Wars), the Force and is a leading member of the Jedi, Jedi Order until its near annihilation. In ''The Empire Strikes Back'', Yoda was voiced and puppeteered by Frank Oz, who reprised the role in ''Return of the Jedi'', the Star Wars prequel trilogy, prequel trilogy, and the Star Wars sequel trilogy, sequel trilogy. A puppeteer is a person who manipulates an inanimate object, called a puppet, to create the illusion that the puppet is alive. The puppet is often shaped like a human, animal, or legendary creature. The puppeteer may be visible to or hidden from the audience. The Galactic Republic, often referred to as simply the Republic, is a fictional galactic polity depicted in the ''Star Wars'' universe, where it existed prior to the establishment of the Galactic Empire. Wendy Froud (''née'' Midener; born 1954) is an American doll-artist, sculptor, puppet-maker, and writer. Mike Quinn (born 1964) is an English puppeteer, animator, actor, director, producer, voice-over artist, puppet builder, composer and mentor. He is also known as Mike Quinby, Michael E. Quinn, and Michael Quinn. Early life and career Quinn was born in Kent, England, and grew up in Enfield, Middlesex. He began puppeteering at age eight.
