Jeddah Metro
The Jeddah Metro is a planned metro system in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Several lines will be built over the course of at least five years that will eventually aim to increase public transport commuter share to 30% from the current 1 to 2 percent. Planning The metro was approved in March 2013. SYSTRA was chosen as the project engineer in 2014. It should be completed in 2020. Completion has been pushed back to 2025. Foster and Partners is to design the stations, trains and branding. Network A total of three lines are planned. Phase 1 would link the King Abdulaziz International Airport with the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, central Al-Ruwais and Al-Khozam. * Line * Line * Line A tram line is also planned. Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium
Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium ( ar, استاد الأمير عبدالله الفيصل) is a stadium in the port city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The stadium is located in the south east of Jeddah, between King Abdulaziz University and the industrial city (Al Waziriah District). It is bound in the east by the Jeddah-Makkah expressway and in the south, Stadium street. The stadium was constructed in 1970, and has a capacity of around 27,000 spectators, and is part of a municipal sports complex that includes an indoor arena and an aquatics center. The stadium consists of two main stands. The covered west stand, is fully seated and has an enclosed VIP box and media suites in a central tribune. The arch shaped east stand is terraced, and curves along the running track. A single large scoreboard is located on the northern edge of the east stand. Rapids are sections of a river where the river bed has a relatively steep gradient, causing an increase in water velocity and turbulence. The Riyadh Metro ( ar, قطار الرياض ', ) is a rapid transit system under construction in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. It is part of the King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport and will consist of six metro lines spanning a total length of 176 kilometers, with 85 stations. Madinah Metro
The Medina Metro or Madinah Metro is a planned three-line metro system for the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia. Planning On 4 November 2013 the Saudi cabinet announced that a metro would be built in Madinah within eight years. A committee for the project was to be chaired by the Governor of Medina, Prince Faisal bin Salman. In March 2015 the Madinah Metro Development Authority (MMDA) awarded French companies Systra (consortium leader) and Egis Group a 12-month contract to carry out feasibility studies and produce preliminary design for the metro. Makkah Metro
The Mecca Metro or Makkah Metro is a metro system with four planned lines in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Metro was constructed by China Railway Construction Corporation and is run by Mecca Mass Rail Transit Company (MMRTC). The metro forms part of the 62-billion-riyal Mecca Public Transport Programe (MPTP), which will include integrated bus services. The four new metro lines will be in addition to the existing Al Mashaer Al Mugaddassah Metro line: 18.1 km, connecting Mecca, Arafat, Muzdalifa, and Mina opened in November 2010. Many people utilize the Mecca Metro during the Hajj. The price for the metro is 250 riyals, with prices lowering to 100 riyals if traveling on the last day of Hajj.
