The flag of South Sudan was adopted following the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that ended the Second Sudanese Civil War. South Sudan (; din, Paguot Thudän), officially the Republic of South Sudan ( din, Paankɔc Cuëny Thudän), is a landlocked country in East Africa. Eastern Equatoria
Eastern Equatoria is a state in South Sudan. It has an area of 73,472 km². The capital is Torit. On October 1, 1972, the state was divided into Imatong and Namorunyang states and was re-established by a peace agreement signed on 22 February 2020. Geography The state shares international borders with Uganda in the south, with Kenya in the south-east and with Ethiopia in the north-east. Teachers and community health workers were not being paid. A household economy survey of three areas showed average daily cash income was at US$ 0.18 per person at Imehejek village, US$0.08 per person at Imotong village and US$0.16 per person at Hyala village. In November 2011 the Commissioner of Lafon County, Caesar Oromo Urbano, said most boreholes in the area had collapsed, and with no skilled technicians to repair them there was an immediate risk of an acute shortage of drinking water. Pari People
Pari (also spelled Paeri) is an ethnic group in South Sudan. They also call themselves Jo-Pari (people of Pari). Pari oral history says the people migrated from the north and west to Lafon County in Equatoria Province, where they lived in six villages at the foot of Lipul Hill (Jebel Lafon). As well as growing crops such as sorghum and keeping cattle, goats and sheep, they hunted and fished. The 1982 census put the total population at approximately 11,000. When the Second Sudanese Civil War began, many Pari joined the Sudan People's Liberation Army/Movement, and many were killed. In February 1993 all six Pari villages were burnt down.
