Jeanetta Calhoun Mish (born 1961) is an American poet and served as Oklahoma's twenty-first poet laureate. Biography Born in Hobart, Oklahoma in 1961, Mish was educated at the University of Houston, the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, and the University of Oklahoma, where she earned her doctorate in 2009. She is a faculty member in the Red Earth MFA in creative writing at Oklahoma City University, which she also serves as program director. Jeanette DuBois Meech
Jeanette DuBois Meech ( Dubois; August 10, 1835 – February 6, 1911) was an American evangelist and industrial educator. She was well known as an evangelist, who married a Baptist clergyman. For many years, Meech taught school in Philadelphia, and was a teacher in the Maryland State Industrial School for Girls. She served as principal of the Industrial Art School in Vineland, New Jersey and in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. She was licensed to preach in South Vineland, where she was assistant pastor for seven years. She was a county superintendent and national lecturer in narcotics for the Woman's Christian Temperance Union (W.C.T.U.), all the while maintaining her interest in industrial education, and supporting her family by a successful business career. Jeanette Loff (born Janette Clarinda Lov; October 9, 1906 – August 4, 1942) was an American actress, musician, and singer who came to prominence for her appearances in several Pathé Exchange and Universal Pictures films in the 1920s. Born in Idaho, Loff was raised throughout the Pacific Northwest, and began singing professionally as a lyric soprano and performing as an organist while a teenager in Portland, Oregon. She studied music at the Ellison-White Conservatory of Music. After moving to Los Angeles, California, Loff was signed to a film contract by producer Cecil B. DeMille, with Pathé Exchange in 1927. She subsequently signed a contract with Universal Pictures. Jeanette Lee (born Lee Jin-Hee, Hangul: 이진희, July 9, 1971, in Brooklyn, New York) is a Korean-American professional pool player. She was nicknamed the Black Widow by her friends because, in spite of her sweet demeanor, she would "eat people alive" when she got to a pool table and always wear black when playing pool. Career Lee started playing pool in 1989. She went on to rank as the No. 1 female pool player in the world during the 1990s, and received the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) Sportsperson of the Year Award in 1998. Jeannette Lee is a British music record executive, music manager, filmmaker and former musician. A retail worker at the Acme Attractions store that, along with the SEX boutique run by Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood, was instrumental in spawning punk in the UK, she went on to become a member of post-punk band Public Image Ltd (PiL). Lee is currently co-owner of the independent record label Rough Trade Records. History Lee grew up in the 1970s in a council estate in London. To stay out of trouble she spent most of her time in her room listening to records. While she was at a club she was noticed by Don Letts, who asked her to work for a store he was managing, Acme Attractions. Jeanette Guysi (1873–1966) was an American painter who was principal of the Detroit Museum School of Art. Her career path followed that of her elder sister, Alice Viola Guysi. Biography Guysi was born on March 10, 1873, in Cincinnati. She studied with William Sartain at the National Academy of Design in New York City, then traveled with her sister, Alice Viola Guysi, to Paris, France where she studied at the Académie Colarossi In 1891 and 1892, Guysi exhibited her paintings at the Paris Salon.
