Jean Scott, born Merla McCormick in 1938, is a retired teacher, an advantage player/ comp hustler, and a gambling author who is best known for her 1998 book ''The Frugal Gambler.'' The book features gambling advice for novice gamblers, including money management strategies and how to procure the best casino comps and discounts. Scott was featured on '' 48 Hours'' as a successful video poker player in 1995, which showed her winning a Mercury Marquis car. She has claimed to win over a million dollars at casino gambling as of 2006. Scott published a sequel to her first book, ''More Frugal Gambling'' in 2003. This book gives more details to help all levels of gamblers to lose less/win more. Advantage Player
Advantage gambling, or advantage play, refers to legal methods used to gain an advantage while gambling, in contrast to cheating. The term usually refers to house-banked casino games, but can also refer to games played against other players, such as poker. Someone who practises advantage gambling is often referred to as an advantage player, or AP. Unlike cheating, which is by definition illegal, advantage play exploits innate characteristics of a particular game to give the player an advantage relative to the house or other players. Comps (casino)
Comps are complimentary items and services given out by casinos to encourage players to gamble. The amount and quality of comps that a player is given usually depends on what game(s) they play, how much they bet, and how long they play. Most casinos have casino hosts responsible for awarding comps and contacting players to bring them back to the casino. Pit bosses can also award comps at table games. Despite the strategic importance of the comps in the casinos' structure, there is no separate profession for it, in different gambling houses, different specialists may be responsible for it. Video poker is a casino game based on five-card draw poker. It is played on a computerized console similar in size to a slot machine. History Video poker first became commercially viable when it became economical to combine a television-like monitor with a solid state central processing unit. Stephen Paddock
Stephen Craig Paddock (April 9, 1953 – October 1, 2017) was an American mass murderer who perpetrated the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. Paddock opened fire into a crowd of about 22,000 concertgoers attending a country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, killing 60 people and injuring approximately 867 (at least 413 of whom were wounded by gunfire).
