Honoré Champion
Honoré Champion (1846–1913) was a French publisher. He founded Éditions Honoré Champion in 1874 and published scientific works geared towards laymen, particularly concerning history and literature. Jean LeClerc (painter)
Jean LeClerc (1587/88 – buried 20 October 1633) was a 17th-century painter from the Duchy of Lorraine. His style was Baroque, or more specifically "Tenebrism, tenebrist". Only six authenticated paintings remain of LeClerc’s work, but numerous etchings and engravings have survived. LeClerc was born and died at Nancy, France, Nancy. He studied with the Venetian master Carlo Saraceni. LeClerc is known for his mastery of nocturnal light effects, and the luminosity of his scenes. Jean Le Clerc (theologian)
Jean Le Clerc, also Johannes Clericus (March 19, 1657 – January 8, 1736), was a Genevan theologian and biblical scholar. He was famous for promoting exegesis, or critical interpretation of the Bible, and was a radical of his age. He parted with Calvinism over his interpretations and left Geneva for that reason. Early life Le Clerk was born in Geneva, where his father, Stephen Le Clerc, was professor of Greek. The family originally belonged to the neighborhood of Beauvais in France, and several of its members acquired some name in literature. Jean Le Clerc applied himself to the study of philosophy under Jean-Robert Chouet (1642-1731) the Cartesian, and attended the theological lectures of Philippe Mestrezat, François Turrettini and Louis Tronchin ( de) (1629-1705). Jean Théophile Victor Leclerc, a.k.a. Jean-Theophilus Leclerc and Theophilus Leclerc d'Oze (1771 – 1820), was a radical French revolutionary, publicist, and soldier. After Jean-Paul Marat was assassinated, Leclerc assumed his mantle. Leclerc was the son of a civil engineer and joined the National Guard in Clermont-Ferrand at the outbreak of revolution in 1789. He then went to Martinique as a merchant's agent. However, his militant pro-revolutionary stance brought him into conflict with the planter aristocracy, who soon expelled him for revolutionary propaganda in 1791. He returned to metropolitan France and joined the 1st battalion of Morbihan in which he served until February 1792, when he left for Paris to defend seventeen grenadiers accused, in Martinique, of being revolutionaries. Jean LeClerc (born July 7, 1948) is a Canadian actor best known for his work in the United States as Jeremy Hunter on the American daytime soap operas ''All My Children'' and '' Loving'' in the 1980s and 1990s. Jean Leclerc, (born May 28, 1958) is a Canadian businessman and former politician. Born in Quebec City, Quebec, the son of Jean-Robert Leclerc and Suzanne Lajeunesse, Leclerc received a Bachelor's degree from Université Laval in 1977. In 1977, he started working at Biscuits Leclerc, a cookie and snack manufacturer founded in 1905 by François Leclerc (Jean Leclerc’s great-grandfather). In 1985, he was elected to the National Assembly of Quebec for Taschereau. A Liberal, he was re-elected in 1989. He did not run in 1994. He was Minister of government services, vice-president of the Treasury Board, and Minister responsible for the Quebec City region. In 1995, he re-joined his family firm as a Vice-President. In 2003, he was appointed president and CEO. In 2006, he was Chairman of the Quebec City 400th Anniversary Society.
