Jean Duvieusart
Jean Pierre Duvieusart (10 April 1900 – 10 October 1977) was a Belgian Catholic politician of the PSC-CVP who served as prime minister of Belgium from June to August in 1950. Political career Jean Duvieusart became a member of the Chamber of Representatives in 1944, serving until 1949, when he became a member of the Senate. Duvieusart served as minister of Economic affairs (1947-1950 en 1952-1954). In 1950 he served two months as the 36th Prime Minister of Belgium but he resigned after the abdication of King Leopold III. Belgian Senate
The Senate ( nl, Senaat, ; french: Sénat, ; german: Senat) is one of the two chambers of the bicameral Federal Parliament of Belgium, the other being the Chamber of Representatives. Rassemblement Wallon
The Walloon Rally (french: Rassemblement wallon; RW) is a regionalist political party in Belgium, active in Wallonia since 1968. The party favoured federalism and since 1985 independence. Founded on 7 March 1968, the party contested the Belgian general election of 1968 in a coalition with the FDF, a Brussels-based francophone political party, receiving 5.9% of the vote nationally. The party's own results in elections to the Belgian Federal Parliament were as follows. The increasing federalisation of Belgium, and the adoption of some of the party's policies by the traditional francophone parties, resulted in a sharp decline in electoral support from 1977 onwards. The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. Together with the Council of the European Union (known as the Council and informally as the Council of Ministers), it adopts European legislation, following a proposal by the European Commission. The Parliament is composed of 705 members (MEPs). It represents the second-largest democratic electorate in the world (after the Parliament of India), with an electorate of 375 million eligible voters in 2009.
