Jean Doerge
Jean McGlothlin Doerge (born June 4, 1937; pronounced DURR-ghee) is director of the Germantown Colony and Museum in Webster Parish, Louisiana and a former Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives who represented District 10 (Webster Parish, Minden) from 1998 to 2012. From 2001 to 2006, she served as the vice chair of the House's Commerce Committee; in 2007, she was appointed to the Louisiana House Appropriations Committee, and from 2008 to 2012, she served as the vice chair of the Retirement Committee. Formative years Born on June 4, 1937 in Galbraith, Louisiana, Jean McGlothlin was one of seven daughters of the late Thomas McGlothlin (1903–1966) and Cora (Vercher) McGlothlin (1904–1975). Gene Reynolds (politician)
Eugene Reynolds Blumenthal (April 4, 1923 – February 3, 2020) was an American screenwriter, director, producer, and actor. He was one of the developers and producers of the TV series ''M*A*S*H''. Early life Reynolds was born on April 4, 1923, to Frank Eugene Blumenthal, a businessman and entrepreneur, and Maude Evelyn (Schwab) Blumenthal, a model, in Cleveland, Ohio. Reynolds initially was raised in Detroit, before the family relocated to Los Angeles in 1934. Reynolds served in the United States Navy during World War II. He served on ships including a destroyer-minesweeper the USS ''Zane''. Following the war, Reynolds received a degree in history at the University of California, Los Angeles, and resumed his acting career. Coushatta, Louisiana
Coushatta is a town in, and the parish seat of, rural Red River Parish, Louisiana, Red River Parish in north Louisiana, United States. It is situated on the east bank of the Red River of the South, Red River. The community is approximately 45 miles south of Shreveport on U.S. Highway 71. The population, 2,299 at the 2000 United States Census, 2000 census, is nearly two-thirds African American, most with long family histories in the area. German Americans
German Americans (german: Deutschamerikaner, ) are Americans who have full or partial German ancestry. With an estimated size of approximately 43 million in 2019, German Americans are the largest of the self-reported ancestry groups by the United States Census Bureau in its American Community Survey. German Americans account for about one third of the total population of people of German ancestry in the world. Very few of the German states had colonies in the new world. In the 1670s, the first significant groups of German immigrants arrived in the British colonies, settling primarily in Pennsylvania, New York and Virginia. The points of the compass are a set of horizontal, radially arrayed compass directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and cartography. A compass rose is primarily composed of four cardinal directions—north, east, south, and west—each separated by 90 degrees, and secondarily divided by four ordinal (intercardinal) directions—northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest—each located halfway between two cardinal directions. Some disciplines such as meteorology and navigation further divide the compass with additional azimuths. Within European tradition, a fully defined compass has 32 'points' (and any finer subdivisions are described in fractions of points). Compass points are valuable in that they allow a user to refer to a specific azimuth in a colloquial fashion, without having to compute or remember degrees.
