Jean Armour Polly
Jean Armour Polly is a librarian and the author of an early series of books on safe Internet services, ''Surfing the Internet.''. She has been an active Internet user since 1991. In 2019, she was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame. She was Director of Public Services and Internet Ambassador at NYSERNet, Inc (1992–1995). She has served on the Internet Society Board of Trustees (1993–1996) and on the ICANN At-Large Advisory Council (ALAC) (2004–2006), as well as on the board of Internet Content Rating Association, ICRA. Education She received her BA in Medieval Studies at Syracuse University in 1974, and her Master's in Library Science from the same university in 1975. Internet Content Rating Association
Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) was an international non-profit organization with offices in the United States and the United Kingdom. In October 2010, the ICRA rating system, and the organization, was discontinued. Its mission was to help users find the content they want, to trust what they find and to filter out what they do not want for themselves or for their children. ICRA also acted as a forum through which both political and technical infrastructure are defined to help shape the way that the World Wide Web and content distribution channels work.
