Jean Andersen
Jean Andersen (born 17 June 1988) is a South African professional tennis player. He has represented South Africa in Davis Cup matches. College career Andersen played college tennis for the Texas Longhorns and was an All-American, ranking as high as number 2 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association in doubles. His father, Johann, was a graduate of the University of Texas. Anderson studied kinesiology while attending the university. In 2011, he qualified for the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship tournament as a doubles player. Davis Cup Andersen represented South Africa in a Davis Cup Group I tie in 2013, and in a Group II tie in 2014. The South Africa men's national tennis team represents South Africa in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Tennis South Africa. South Africa won the Davis Cup in 1974 by default as India withdrew from the finals as a protest against apartheid policies. They currently compete in Group II of the Europe/Africa Zone. Marcin Matkowski (; born 15 January 1981) is a Polish former professional tennis player whose speciality is in doubles. He played college tennis at UCLA, where Jean-Julien Rojer was one of his teammates. Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg won the Madrid Open twice, in addition to reaching the final at the US Open. Mariusz Stanisław Fyrstenberg (born 8 July 1980) is a retired left-handed Polish tennis player who was a doubles specialist. Fyrstenberg primarily partnered Marcin Matkowski. The pair won the Madrid Open twice, in addition to reaching the final at the US Open. They also reached the final of the ATP Finals and participated six times at the event overall. He is currently the coach of Wesley Koolhof and Jan Zielinski. Rik de Voest (born 5 June 1980) is a former professional South African tennis player. He achieved his career-high singles ranking of world No. 110 in August 2006. Rik resides in Vancouver, Canada where he pursues a career in real estate. De Voest qualified for the 2007 Wimbledon Championships where he lost to Marat Safin in the first round. He also qualified for the US Open later on in 2007, where he defeated Thierry Ascione 6–2, 3–0 before Ascione retired. De Voest went on to lose to John Isner in the following round. Jerzy Filip Janowicz Jr. (; born 13 November 1990) is a Polish professional tennis player. Janowicz is best known for becoming the first Polish man to reach a major semifinal at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships. Noted for his very powerful serve, Janowicz can hit at up to along with strong groundstrokes. Despite never winning an ATP Tour title, Janowicz obtained a career-high world ranking of No. 14 in August 2013. NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship
The NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship is an annual men's college tennis national collegiate championship sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for teams in Division I. The tournament crowns a team, individual, and doubles champion . The first intercollegiate championship was held in 1883, 23 years before the founding of the NCAA, with Harvard's Joseph Clark taking the singles title. The same year Clark partnered to Howard Taylor to win the doubles title. The first NCAA-sponsored tournament was held in 1946.
