Jean Abdelnour
Jean Abdel-Nour ( ar, جان عبد النور, born 29 November 1983) is a Lebanese basketball player. He had a successful 2002–03 season with Ghazir which led him to be signed by the Bluestars for the 2003–04 season. He stayed with the Bluestars until the 2008–09 season where he was the leading Lebanese scorer on the team averaging 16 ppg and 7.4 rpg. After the season finished Bluestars dropped from the first division, and Abdelnour subsequently signed a 4-year contract with Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. Abdel-Nour is also a member of the Lebanon national basketball team, with whom he competed with at the 2006 FIBA World Championship. The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Japan Basketball Association (JABBA) and the 2006 Organising Committee. For the first time since 1986, the World Championship was contested by 24 nations, eight more than in 2002. Lebanese Basketball League
The Lebanese Basketball League is the top-tier professional men's basketball league in Lebanon. It is organized annually as a national championship with playoffs and a national cup by the Lebanese Basketball Federation (FLB). Currently, the league consists of 12 teams, of which six are located in Beirut. The most successful club in the history of the league is Al Riyadi who have won a record 16 championships.
