Jean-Victor Makengo
Jean-Victor Makengo (born 12 June 1998) is a French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for side Lorient. Club career Makengo is a youth exponent from SM Caen. He made his Ligue 1 debut on 29 November 2015 against Girondins de Bordeaux. His potential had him linked to top clubs such as both Manchester United and Manchester City. On 31 August 2016, French side FC Lorient made a €5 million bid for the midfielder, refused by Caen. He scored his first two goals in a professional match against AS Nancy in 4–2 in Coupe de la Ligue. He made 17 appearances in Ligue 1 in the 2016–17 season. At the end of the season, he was called up to France U21 team but missed the matches due to injuries. On 9 June 2017, Makengo joined French side OGC Nice. Stade Malherbe Caen (; commonly known as SM Caen, SMC, or simply Caen) is a French professional football team, based in the city of Caen in Normandy, that competes in the Ligue 2. The club was founded on 17 November 1913 by the merger of ''Club Malherbe Caennais'' and ''Club Sportif Caennais''. The team takes its name from François de Malherbe, a 17th century poet from Caen. For most of its history, SM Caen has been one of the main amateur clubs in France. The late 1980s and early 1990s saw the rise of Stade Malherbe in the French football hierarchy. The Coupe de la Ligue (), known outside France as the French League Cup, was a Single-elimination tournament, knockout cup competition in Football in France, French football organized by the Ligue de Football Professionnel. The tournament was established in 1993 and, unlike the Coupe de France, was only open to professional clubs in France which play in country's French football league system, top three football divisions, though the Championnat National, third is not fully professional.
