Jean-Paul Alata
Jean-Paul Alata (17 August 1924 – September 1978) was a Frenchman who was a political prisoner in Camp Boiro, Guinea from January 1971 to July 1975, later writing a book about his experience which was banned by the French government. Early career Alata was born on 17 August 1924 in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. His father was of Corsican origin, but he considered himself a "white African". His wife and mother of his children, Tènin, was a Malinké. Alata was a member of the French Communist Party. He served in Senegal for ten years before being dismissed for political reasons and moving to Guinea in 1955. At that time he was in sympathy with the socialist views expressed by Ahmed Sékou Touré, who was to become the first President after Guinea gained independence from France in 1958. The French people (french: Français) are an ethnic group and nation primarily located in Western Europe that share a common French culture, history, and language, identified with the country of France. Michel Poniatowski
Michel Poniatowski (16 May 1922 – 15 January 2002) was a French politician, member of a legitimized line of Poland's princely Poniatowski family. He was a founder of the Independent Republicans and a part of the administration for President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. Poniatowski served as Minister of Health from 1973 to 1974 and Minister of the Interior in the Giscard d'Estaing government from 1974 to 1977. He was a founder and honorary president of the Union for French Democracy (Union pour la Démocratie Française, UDF). A prisoner (also known as an inmate or detainee) is a person who is deprived of liberty against their will. This can be by confinement, captivity, or forcible restraint. The term applies particularly to serving a prison sentence in a prison. English law "Prisoner" is a legal term for a person who is imprisoned. In section 1 of the Prison Security Act 1992, the word "prisoner" means any person for the time being in a prison as a result of any requirement imposed by a court or otherwise that he be detained in legal custody.
