Jean-Louis Bourlanges
Jean-Louis Bourlanges (born 13 July 1946) is a French politician who has represented the 12th constituency of the Hauts-de-Seine department in the National Assembly since 2017. A member of the Democratic Movement (MoDem), he has presided over the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly since 2021. Bourlanges previously served as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1989 to 2007. He was elected on the Union for French Democracy (UDF) list and sat with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe group. He is a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (better known as Sciences Po), where he is currently an associate professor. Municipal Council (France)
In France, a municipal council ( French: ''conseil municipal'') is an elected body of the commune responsible for "executing, in its deliberations, the business of the town" (translated). The council must meet at least once a quarter, or at a request from at least one third of its members, but usually meets once a month. The council manages the smallest French territorial community with legal and financial autonomy, the commune. Participation in the Municipal council vote as a candidate or as an elector is a privilege given only to European citizens. Brigitte Fouré (born 13 August 1955 in Amiens) is a French university lecturer and former government minister, a member of the ''Nouveau Centre'' and of ''Société en mouvement'' ("Society on the Move") She is also a lecturer in law at the University of Picardie Jules Verne. Early life and education Daughter of a farmer, Fouré studied law at Amiens and Paris. 2004 European Parliament Election
The 2004 European Parliament election was held between 10 and 13 June 2004 in the 25 member states of the European Union, using varying election days according to local custom. The European Parliamental parties could not be voted for, but elected national parties aggregated in European Parliamental parties after the elections. Votes were counted as the polls closed, but results were not announced until 13 and 14 June so results from one country would not influence voters in another where polls were still open; however, the Netherlands, voting on Thursday 10, announced nearly complete provisional results as soon as they were counted, on the evening of its election day, a move heavily criticized by the European Commission. 342 million people were eligible to vote, the second-largest democratic electorate in the world after India.
