Jean-Charles Moïse
Jean-Charles Moïse (born 20 April 1967) is a Haitian politician. He is the Secretary General of the Pitit Desalin political party, and was a candidate for President of Haiti in 2015, and again in 2016, when the presidential elections were redone. He served 3 consecutive terms as the mayor of Milot (northern Haiti) and one term as Senator for the Nord Department, where he resigned with 2 years left on his mandate in protest to some elected officials who tried to offered him $2.5 million bribe to stop his opposition against then President, Michel Martelly. Biography Jean-Charles completed his studies at the National School of Milot and the Lycée Philippe Guerrier in Cap-Haïtien. He studied accounting science at Adventist University Diquini. Senate (Haiti)
The Senate (french: Sénat, ) is the upper house of Haiti's bicameral legislature, the Haitian Parliament. The lower house of the Haitian Parliament is the Chamber of Deputies. The Senate consists of thirty seats, with three members from each of the ten administrative departments. Prior to the creation of the department of Nippes in 2003, there were twenty-seven seats. Senators are elected by popular vote to six-year terms, with one-third elected every two years. There are no term limits for Senators; they may be re-elected indefinitely. After the elections of 2000, twenty-six of the then twenty-seven seats were held by Jean-Bertrand Aristide's Fanmi Lavalas party. The Senate was not in session following the overthrow of Aristide's government in February 2004. An interim government was put in place following the rebellion, and the remaining Senators were not recognised during that time. Jude Célestin
Jude Célestin (born June 19, 1962 in Port-au-Prince) is a Haitian politician who was one of two presidential candidates heading off to the second round in the 2015 presidential election race. After an education in Port-au-Prince, Célestin studied mechanical engineering in Switzerland. Before he was nominated as the presidential candidate for President René Préval's Unity (INITE) party, he was the executive director of the government's construction ministry, the National Center of Equipment. 2010 elections Célestin ran as leader of LAPEH ( Ligue Alternative pour le Progres et L'Émancipation Haïtienne). The first round of voting took place on November 28, and preliminary results showed law professor and former first lady Mirlande Manigat in first place, with 31.4 percent of the vote.
