Jaywalk (foaled March 30, 2016 in Kentucky) is a Thoroughbred filly racehorse who in 2018 won the $2,000,000 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, the world's richest race of its class. She is trained by John Servis for owners Cash is King, LLC (Charles J. Zacney, et al.) and D J Stable, LL (Leonard C. Green). Breeding Bred in Kentucky by Gainesway Thoroughbreds Ltd., Jaywalk was sired by Grade 1 winner Cross Traffic. Unbridled's Song
Unbridled's Song (February 18, 1993 – July 26, 2013) was an American thoroughbred racehorse who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, Florida Derby and Wood Memorial. He was the favorite for the 1996 Kentucky Derby but suffered a cracked hoof in the weeks before the race and finished fifth. He finished his racing career with five wins from twelve starts and earnings of $1.3 million. He subsequently became a highly successful sire, with major winners including Breeders' Cup champions Arrogate, Forever Unbridled, Midshipman and Liam's Map. He also sired the filly Eight Belles who came second in the Kentucky Derby. He was posthumously the leading sire in North America of 2017. Fappiano (May 19, 1977 – September 3, 1990) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse whose most important win was the 1981 Metropolitan Handicap. When retired to stud, he became a major sire whose offspring included Kentucky Derby winner Unbridled. He was named for Joseph C. Nichols (1905–1984), a long-time sportswriter for ''The New York Times'', who was born Giuseppe Carmine Fappiano. Background Fappiano was bred and raced by U.S. Racing Hall of Fame trainer John Nerud and trained by his son, Jan. Spinning World (foaled 1993 in Kentucky, United States) is a French thoroughbred racehorse who was one of the top European milers during the 1990s. After winning the 1996 Irish 2,000 Guineas at The Curragh in Ireland, the first French horse ever to do so, and the Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville Racecourse in France, Spinning World finished second to Da Hoss in the Breeders' Cup Mile at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Following more Group One wins in 1997 in France, he returned for the Breeders' Cup Mile at Hollywood Park Racetrack, USA, which he won while equaling the track record. Spinning World was retired to stud duty after the 1997 racing season.
