Jayde Adams
Jayde Pricilla Gail Adams (born 26 November 1984) is a British comedian, actress, writer and opera singer from Bristol. She is the winner of the 2014 Funny Women Award. Career Adams started performing stand-up comedy in 2011, following the premature death from an inoperable brain tumour of her sister Jenna, with whom she had danced competitively for 13 years at her aunt's dance school in Bristol. As a child, Adams attended several youth theatre groups in Bristol, including Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre but never formally trained in acting or singing. She moved to Wales in 2004 to study Drama, Theatre and Media at the University of Glamorgan. In 2012 she was nominated by ''Time Out'' magazine as their wildcard for The Hospital Club 100 Awards list of "Most Influential Person in the Arts". Funny Women
Funny Women is an online and in-person workshop community dedicated to the support of female comedians. It was founded by Lynne Parker in 2002 as a reaction to misogynistic comments from a comedy promoter. Funny Women helps women find their voice, promote them, and assists charities. During the 2019 Funny Women Awards Final, Funny Women announced that their new Patron (renamed “Matron”), would be Jo Brand. Live events Funny Women runs "Stand Up to Stand Out" comedy workshops hosted by Parker. In 2013, Funny Women hosted the first Workshop Weekend at the women-only business club B.Hive in Covent Garden. Tom Stade
Tom Stade is a Canadian comedian who currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland with his wife Trudy and their two children. Stade was encouraged to move from his hometown of Vancouver to the UK in 2001 by his friend and fellow comedian, Craig Campbell. He has a distinctive "drunken Canadian" accent and is known for his appearances at the Edinburgh Festival, as well as appearing on British TV shows such as '' Live at the Apollo'', ''The Comedy Store'', '' The Live Floor Show'', '' Stand Up for the Week'', and ''The World Stands Up''. The Tenderloins
The Tenderloins are an American comedy troupe composed of James "Murr" Murray, Brian "Q" Quinn, and Sal Vulcano. The group stars in the television series ''Impractical Jokers'', which premiered on December 15, 2011. The program airs on truTV in the U.S. and on Comedy Central in the UK, Ireland, and India. Origin The comedians met in religion class during their freshman year at Monsignor Farrell High School on Staten Island in 1990. After discovering their mutual interests in drama and improv, the group joined an improv club because "It was the only way to meet girls", since they attended an all-boys school. Edinburgh Comedy Awards
The Dave (TV channel), Dave's Edinburgh Comedy Awards (formerly the Perrier Comedy Awards, and also briefly known by other names for sponsorship reasons) are presented to the comedy shows deemed to have been the best at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland. Established in 1981, they are the most prestigious comedy prize in the United Kingdom. The awards have been directed and produced by Nica Burns since 1984. Spencer Jones (comedian)
Spencer Jones is an English actor, comedian and writer. He has performed regularly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and in 2017 and 2019 was nominated for the main prize in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. He was co-creator and co-star of the BAFTA-nominated CBBC comedy ''Big Babies'', and has a regular role in the sitcom ''Upstart Crow''.
