Jayci Simon
Jayci Simon (born February 13, 2005) is an American para-badminton player. She is a 2023 Parapan American Games gold medalist in mixed doubles, and 2024 BWF Para-Badminton World Championships bronze medalist in mixed doubles. She represented the United States at the 2024 Summer Paralympics and won a silver medal in mixed doubles. Early life and education Simon was born to Chad and Amy Simon. She was diagnosed with acromicric dysplasia, a rare form of dwarfism, at seven years old. She attended St. Johns High School in St. Johns, Michigan. Career Simon competed at the 2017 World Dwarf Games and medaled in all ten of the events she competed in. She won gold medals in doubles badminton, basketball, the 40-meter run, 60-meter run and the 4x40 relay race. She won silver medals in singles badminton, soccer, shot put and discus and won a bronze medal in the javelin throw. She does not have a regular coach or facility to train at. Para-badminton
Para-badminton is a variant of badminton for athletes with a range of physical disabilities. Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the main governing body for para-badminton starting from June 2011. The sport was governed by Para Badminton World Federation (PBWF) until a unanimous decision to join BWF during a meeting in Dortmund in June 2011. WSYM-TV (channel 47) is a television station in Lansing, Michigan, United States, affiliated with Fox and MyNetworkTV. Owned by the E. W. Scripps Company, the station has studios on West Saint Joseph Street (along I-496) in downtown Lansing, and its transmitter is located in Hamlin Township along M-50/ M-99/South Clinton Trail. History WSYM signed on for the first time on December 1, 1982, as WFSL-TV. It was owned by Lansing businessman Joel Ferguson and his company, F&S Development Company, and aired an analog signal on channel 47. WFSL was the first new commercial station in the area since WILX-TV signed-on 23 years earlier. Conventional wisdom suggested it should have debuted as an ABC affiliate. Lansing was one of the largest markets in the nation that still didn't have full service from all three major networks.
