Jayam Rutnam
Jayam Rutnam is a Sri Lanka born American and the founder of the Sri Lanka America Association of Southern California (SLAASC) in 1973. Jayam is retired from his shipping business and currently involved as a film critic and journalist. Rutnam is an associate producer of the film '' The Road from Elephant Pass'' which was a Finalist Award Winner at the ''New York International Television and Film Awards - 2011''. Biography Jayam is the fifth son of Dr. James T. Rutnam and a brother of film maker Chandran Rutnam. Jayam immigrated to Southern California in 1963. His eldest brother, Raja, was the first Sri Lankan immigrant to the United States, which was in 1958. He is married to Gina, an Italian-American and has daughter Aliki and son Jean-Louis and two grandchildren by the former. Evelyn Rutnam Institute For Inter-Cultural Studies
The Evelyn Rutnam Institute is a nonprofit organization located in Thirunelveli, Jaffna Peninsula, Sri Lanka, whose primary objective is to facilitate inter-cultural relations and to encourage the studies of past and present cultures. The institute was established on 10 May 1981, in the memory of Evelyn Wijeyaratne Rutnam, the late wife of late James T. Rutnam. History James T. Rutnam had a huge collection of books and research articles received from university donations, researchers, leading legal figures, and businessmen. Learned persons visited him for consultation and made use of his library. This collection was later donated to Jaffna College in Vaddukoddai, and was established as an institution to store and maintain the books and documents for research purposes. Chandran Rutnam is a Sri Lankan filmmaker and entrepreneur. Rutnam has hosted numerous Hollywood films for their location shoots in Sri Lanka and Malaysia. He was the Line Producer/Production Supervisor on several international productions including the Sri Lankan location shoot of Paramount Pictures' ''Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom'' (1984) and '' Indochine'' (1992). He is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Film Location Services which mostly hosts foreign films to be shot in South and South East Asia.
