Jaya Rajid
Pengiran Jaya (1925 – 18 October 2009) was a nobleman and the first Brunei local to be appointed as Brunei's Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and appointed as the Brunei High Commissioner to several countries. Notably, he was also a member of the Legislative Council. Career He became the first Brunei police personnel to be sent to United Kingdom in 1956. He was also an appointed member of Brunei Privy Council also a Member of Brunei's Royal Succession Council (Majlis Mesyuarat Mengangkat Raja). In 1963, the acting Head of the Religious Affairs Department awarded the Order of Setia Negara Brunei to Police Superintendent Jaya. On 30 January 1967, he was elected as the deputy commissioner of police, and later was again bestowed the Family Order of Seri Utama by then Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III on 9 August. Malay Titles
The Malay language has a complex system of styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and several provinces in Indonesia regularly award honorary and life titles. What follows in this article is specific to the Malaysian system. Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB; Jawi: بندر سري بڬاوان; ) is the capital city of Brunei. It is officially a municipal area () with an area of and an estimated population of 100,700 as of 2007. The politics of Brunei take place in a framework of an absolute monarchy, whereby the Sultan of Brunei is both head of state and head of government (Prime Minister of Brunei). Privy Council (Brunei)
The Privy Council () is a formal body of advisers to the monarch of Brunei. When His Majesty appoints people to posts with traditional ranks, titles, and honors, the council provides advice. The council was established in 1959 in accordance with Brunei's constitution and are in charge of advising His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the three branches of government which are the executive, judicial, and legislative, even though they have separate powers. Legislative Council Of Brunei
The Legislative Council of Brunei (Malay: ''Majlis Mesyuarat Negara Brunei''; Jawi: مجليس مشوارت نڬارا بروني; abbrev: Legco) is a national unicameral legislature of Brunei. The council comprises 36 appointed members, that only has consultative tasks. Under Brunei's 1959 constitution, His Majesty Hassanal Bolkiah is the head of state with full executive authority, including emergency powers since 1962. The Council holds its sitting annually in March at Legislative Council Building in Bandar Seri Begawan. History The council was established in 1959 by virtue of Article 23 of Brunei's Constitution of 1959. Its first sitting was held at Lapau on 21 October 1959. Royal Brunei Police Force
The Royal Brunei Police Force, RBPF ( ms, Polis Diraja Brunei (PDB) is in charge of keeping law and order in Brunei. The RBPF has been one of the 190 members of INTERPOL, an intergovernmental organisation worldwide since 1984.
