Jay Paul Gumm
Jay Paul Gumm (born November 29, 1963) is an American economic development professional from Bryan County, Oklahoma who served eight years as a member of the Oklahoma State Senate. Education Born in Durant, Oklahoma, Gumm received his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He was a realtor and consultant. Prior to being elected to the Oklahoma Senate, Gumm was executive director of the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce. Political career Gumm served as a Democratic member of the Oklahoma Senate representing District 6 (which includes all of Bryan, Johnston and Marshall counties and parts of Atoka and Coal Counties) from 2002 through 2010. In 2010, Gumm was defeated in a re-election bid to Josh Brecheen. Coal County, Oklahoma
Coal County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,925. Its county seat is Coalgate. History Coal County was formed at statehood from the former Shappaway County (later renamed Atoka County) of the Pushmataha District of the Choctaw Nation in Indian Territory. A strip of Coal County was taken from the Pontotoc District of the Chickasaw Nation. Initially, the Oklahoma legislature named Lehigh as the county seat, but a special election held in 1908 resulted in the citizens choosing Coalgate as the county seat. Stone County is a County (United States), county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, the population was 17,786. Its county seat is Wiggins, Mississippi, Wiggins. Stone County was formed from the northern portion of Harrison County, Mississippi, Harrison County on June 5, 1916. The county was named for John M. Stone, who served as Governor of Mississippi from 1876 to 1882 and again from 1890 to 1896. Joshua Chad Brecheen (, , born June 19, 1979) is an American politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma who has served as the U.S. representative for Oklahoma's 2nd congressional district since 2023. He represented the 6th district in the Oklahoma Senate from 2010 to 2018. He is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation. Early life and career Joshua Chad Brecheen was born on June 19, 1979. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. In 1997, he was first elected as SE District Vice-president of the Oklahoma FFA. The next year, he was elected State FFA President, moved to Stillwater, and transferred to Oklahoma State University. He served as State FFA President until 1999. Atoka County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 14,007. Its county seat is Atoka. The county was formed before statehood from Choctaw Lands, and its name honors a Choctaw Chief named Atoka.
