Jay Martin (ski Jumper)
Jay Warren Martin (born September 8, 1944) is an American former ski jumper. In 1968 he won the national title, and placed 43rd in the large hill event at the 1968 Winter Olympics. In retirement he worked for the Minneapolis Ski Club, and was active as a ski judge. Denise Lor (born Denise Jeanne Briault; May 3, 1929 – September 27, 2015) was an American popular singer and actress. She was a featured artist on ''The Garry Moore Show''. In 1951, she appeared in the short-lived variety show '' Seven at Eleven''. Early years Of French parentage and born in Los Angeles, Lor moved with her mother to Jackson Heights, Queens, New York at the age of 5, following her father's death. She graduated from Newtown High School and took art courses at night at Cooper Union, intent on becoming a commercial artist, while waitressing during the day at a Schrafft's restaurant. She also had a love for singing, saving up money to do it professionally. She believed her chance to sing in Sonja Henie's New York ice show at the Center Theatre to be her big break. Jay C. Martin (born October 8, 1969) is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for the 40th district from 2003 to 2007. In 2005, Martin served as majority leader of the House. Early life and education Martin was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1969. Martin had a mentally ill father and was raised in North Little Rock. In 1992, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Four years later, Martin earned Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. Career Since 1997, Martin has worked as an attorney at James R. Wallace and Associates. He was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in November 2002 and assumed office in January 2003. He left office in 2007.
