Jay Ladner
Jay Ladner (born December 8, 1965) is an American basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles men's basketball team. Playing career Ladner played college basketball at Southern Miss where he was part of the Golden Eagles' 1987 NIT Championship team. Coaching career In 1992, Ladner began coaching in the high school ranks, first at St. Stanislaus HS, where he guided the team to 10 state tournament appearances from 1992–2011 before moving on to his high school alma mater Oak Grove HS. His overall high school coaching record was 511–189 Ladner would move into the junior college ranks as the head coach at Jones County Junior College where in 2014 he led the Bobcats to the NJCAA Division I National Championship, becoming the lowest seed to ever win the national championship. The 2019–20 Southern Miss Golden Eagles men's basketball team represents the University of Southern Mississippi during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. 2019–20 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 5, 2019. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded prematurely on March 12, 2020. The 2020 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was scheduled to end in Atlanta on April 6, 2020, but was ultimately canceled. All other postseason tournaments were canceled as well. Practices officially began in late September. On March 12, 2020, the NCAA announced that all remaining winter and spring championships for both men's and women's sports were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Conference USA
Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas. History C-USA was founded in 1995 by the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, two Division I conferences that did not sponsor football. However, the merger did not include either Great Midwest member Dayton or Metro members VCU and Virginia Tech.
