Jay Cheel
Jay Cheel (born ) is a Canadian documentary filmmaker, editor and podcaster. Career He is mainly known for directing the feature-length documentary '' Beauty Day'', and short film ''Cooking With Gerry – Episode #2: Poutine'' that premiered at the Flyway Film Festival. Since 2005, he has been co-hosting the Film Junk Podcast, which holds the Guinness World records record for longest-running movie podcast. In addition to these works, Jay has also made several others, including a viral marketing 'Mockumentary', entitled ''The Goblin Man of Norway''. The film follow several fictitious professionals' opinions on a recent discovery of a humanoid robot, found buried in the glaciers of the arctic. Beauty Day
''Beauty Day'' is a 2011 Canadian documentary film written and directed by Jay Cheel. It features the life and work of Ralph Zavadil whose '' Cap'n Video'' series on a community cable channel consisted of outlandish stunts which resembled those seen in the later '' Jackass'' series. Zavadil also discusses aspects of his personal life, such as working at the local GM plant, and his family which were affected by his drinking problem. Scenes Zavadil began his ''Cap'n Video'' series on St. Catharines, Ontario cable channel 10 in 1990. One such incident involved an attempt at an "instant razor" where Zavadil applied combustible liquid on his face then set it on fire. The film begins with a clip of Zavadil's most notorious stunt in which he attempted to dive into a covered swimming pool from a ladder. Flyway Film Festival
The Flyway Film Festival is an annual independent film festival along the shores of Lake Pepin in Wisconsin and Minnesota, United States, held in October. It was founded in 2008 by Rick Vaicius in Pepin, Wisconsin, and has since expanded to include screenings in Stockholm and Alma, Wisconsin and Red Wing and Wabasha, Minnesota. In 2017, Rick Vaicius, Flyway's longtime executive director, departed the organization. A new non-profit and board were established to carry the organization forward. This non-profit, the Flyway Film Society, relaunched the film festival in 2018 under the guidance of interim director Lu Lippold. As of November 2018, Flyway was recognized as a 501(c)(3).
