Jay Blakesberg
Jay Blakesberg (born December 1, 1961) is an American, San Francisco-based, photographer and film maker. Biography His suburban youth was spent mostly in Clark, New Jersey, where he first discovered a passion for taking pictures. As a young teenager, Blakesberg began taking his father's Pentax camera to local concerts. The Grateful Dead performed at the Meadowlands in 1978 and was the first Dead show he photographed. A few years on the road with a group of people called Deadheads resulted in the beginning of a body of photographic work that continues to this day. The early 1980s found Blakesberg living in Olympia, Washington, where he attended the Evergreen State College. More intensive study and focus on photography and filmmaking led him to an internship doing corporate photography and video in the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid-1980s. ''Addicted to Noise'' (ATN) was an online music magazine in the early days of the World Wide Web. Founded in 1994 by ex-''Rolling Stone'' associate editor and senior writer Michael Goldberg and online music pioneer Jon Luini, it published its first issue in December 1994 and was the first online magazine to include audio samples alongside new album reviews. Among the many artists interviewed for ATN were R.E.M., Neil Young, Patti Smith, Sonic Youth, Chris Isaak, Eminem, Green Day, Metallica, American Music Club, Tom Waits, Paul Westerberg, Lou Reed, David Lowery of Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven, Sleater-Kinney and Prince. Primus is an American rock music, rock band formed in El Sobrante, Contra Costa County, California, El Sobrante, California in 1984. The band is currently composed of bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde, Larry "Ler" LaLonde, and drummer Tim Alexander, Tim "Herb" Alexander.
