The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The ground is mainly used for matches of football, cricket and other sports. The stadium hosted six first-class matches in 1992 when Uttar Pradesh cricket team played against railways cricket team. The stadium has hosted many non- first-class matches including a match between touring Nepal cricket team and Ghaziabad District Cricket Association in 2013. The also hosted a Youth Test match between India national under-19 cricket team and England under-19 cricket team in 1993. The Uttar Pradesh cricket team, formerly United Provinces Cricket Team, is a domestic cricket team which is based in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, run by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association. Cricket Grounds In Uttar Pradesh
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out").
