Jawahar Yadav (Pandit)
Jawahar Yadav, alias Pandit, was an Indian politician. He was leader of the Samajwadi Party. He was elected as Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Jhunsi Vidhansabha of Allahabad district (which was converted into Phulpur Vidhansabha after 2008 delimitation). Jawahar was originally from Jaunpur who came to neighboring district Allahabad in search of employment and started the business of liquor and extracting morang sand from the Ganga-Yamuna basin. Rise in politics Along with business, he started trying his luck in politics as well and in 1989 joined the Janata Dal, the party of the then Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, later in 1992, when Mulayam Singh Yadav formed the Samajwadi Party, he joined it. Jaunpur () is a city and a municipal board in Jaunpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located 228 km southeast of state capital Lucknow. Mulayam Singh Yadav (22 November 1939 – 10 October 2022) was an Indian politician, a socialist figure and the founder of the Samajwadi Party. Janeshwar Mishra (5 August 1933 – 22 January 2010) was a politician from Samajwadi Party. He was a member of the Parliament of India and also represented Uttar Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh (born 5 October 1943) is an Indian politician from the Allahabad Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh. He played a major role in the establishment of the Samajwadi Party with SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Beni Prasad Verma and Azam Khan. He is the national secretary of Samajwadi Party. He has served Karachana, the Vidhan Sabha constituency of Allahabad more than 7 times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). He was also elected as a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Allahabad twice after defeating the popular BJP politician, Murali Manohar Joshi in 2004 general elections.
