Jawad Kadhim
Jawad Kadhim (born 14 October 1993) is an Iraqi footballer who currently plays for Al-Minaa in the Iraqi Premier League. International career Jawad Kadhim was called up to the senior Iraq squad for a 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia in November 2013. He made his international debut against Syria on 15 November 2013. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Al-Minaa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الميناء الرياضي, lit=Port Sports Club) is an Iraqi multi-sport club based in Al Maqal, Al-Maqal, Basra that participates in the Iraq Division One, the second tier of Football in Iraq, Iraqi football. It is one of the most popular clubs in Iraq, particularly in the south, and became the first club outside Baghdad to win the Iraqi Premier League. Al-Minaa was founded on November 22, 1931, in Al-Maqal. In 1974–75 Iraqi National League, 1974, the club was merged with another team called Al-Etisalat SC, Al-Bareed to form a single club called Al-Muwasalat SC, Al-Muwasalat, and it was a strange situation because the Al-Bareed team were based in Baghdad while Al-Minaa were based in Basra and the two teams met in Baghdad on the day of the match only, so after just one season the club was dissolved and Al-Minaa returned in their place. The 2013 AFC U-22 Championship (also known as the 2013 AFC U-22 Asian Cup) was the first edition of the AFC U-22 Championship. The hosting rights for the tournament was awarded to Oman. The AFC U-23 Asian Cup, previously the AFC U-22 Championship (in 2013) and AFC U-23 Championship (between 2016 and 2020), is a biennial international football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-23 national teams of Asia. Each even-yeared edition of the tournament is linked to the qualification process for the Olympic Games, such as in 2016 and 2020, from which the top 3 teams qualified. The first edition was initially set to be held in 2013 and its qualification matches in 2012, but the finals tournament was postponed to be played in January 2014 due to the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup.
