Javier Weyler
Javier Andrés Weyler (born 3 July 1975) is an Argentine-born Venezuelan-English drummer, best known as a member of Stereophonics from 2004 to 2012. He was the drummer in the Venezuelan band Claroscuro for over nine years until he left the country in 2001 to study audio engineering in London. In 2008 he released his first solo album, ''Lagrima'', under the pseudonym of Capitan Melao. Career Weyler was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before moving with his family to Caracas, Venezuela, where he learned music and developed his early career as a drummer. 1992–2004: Claroscuro and audio engineering Weyler was given his first drum kit at the age of thirteen by his father's band drummer and was taught how to play them by Venezuelan drummer Jose Mato. "Local Boy in the Photograph" is the first single by rock band Stereophonics. The song is taken from their debut album, ''Word Gets Around'' and was released on 17 March 1997. The song reached number 51 in the UK Singles Chart. On 9 February 1998, the song was re-released and reached number 14 on the same chart. Title and lyrics During an interview with Sky Arts HD after his performance at the Hay Festival in June 2010, Kelly Jones explained the meaning of a few of his songs and said that "Local Boy in the Photograph" was based on the true story of local boy Paul David Boggis, who was killed by a train travelling between Cwmbach and Aberdare. Stuart James Cable (19 May 1970 – 7 June 2010) was a Welsh rock drummer and broadcaster, best known as the original drummer for the band Stereophonics. Richard Jones (born 23 May 1974) is a Welsh bassist, pianist and backing vocalist from Cwmaman, Wales, for the Welsh post-Britpop rock band Stereophonics, playing alongside Kelly Jones (no relation), Adam Zindani and Jamie Morrison. Jones grew up in Cwmaman, an old mining village in South Wales. Richard originally formed the band with Kelly Jones and Stuart Cable, playing under the name "Tragic Love Company". Jones played to his largest audience on 2 July 2005 as the group appeared at the Live 8 concert, in Hyde Park, London. Kelly Jones (born 3 June 1974) is a Welsh singer-songwriter and a founding member, lead singer, and guitarist of the rock band Stereophonics. Early life and debut Kelly Jones was born youngest of three boys for Beryl and Arwyn Jones in the small Welsh former mining village of Cwmaman, Rhondda Cynon Taf, spending his childhood with them and his two older brothers, Kevin and Lee. ''You Gotta Go There to Come Back'' is the fourth studio album by alternative rock band Stereophonics. Produced by Kelly Jones and released on V2 in 2003, this LP became their third consecutive album to top the UK chart, selling 101,946 copies in its first week alone. It is the final Stereophonics album to feature long-time original drummer Stuart Cable before he was fired in September 2003. Recording Kelly Jones produced the album himself, working fast in hoping to capture the "vibe" of the band's concerts; "I wanted to create a record that was very raw, very spontaneous but had loads of detail and textures and layers," Jones noted, "We pushed ourselves in many places we've never been before."
