Javier Olivan
Javier Oliván (born 1977) is a Spanish-American business executive and the chief operating officer of Meta Platforms, succeeding Sheryl Sandberg. Early life, education and career Oliván was born in 1977 in Sabiñánigo, Huesca, Spain. Education and early career He studied electrical and industrial engineering at the University of Navarra in Pamplona. He then joined Siemens as a research and development engineer in Munich, Germany, before moving to Tokyo, Japan, to work for NTT Data on wireless video technologies. He later worked as product manager at Siemens Mobile where he led a team responsible for mobile device development. In 2005, he enrolled in the MBA program at Stanford University. As a student, along with several friends, he worked on creating a Spanish-language version of Facebook, called Nosuni. Onavo was an Israeli mobile web analytics company owned by Meta Platforms. The company primarily performed its activities via consumer mobile apps, including the virtual private network (VPN) service Onavo Protect, which analysed web traffic sent through the VPN to provide statistics on the usage of other apps.
