Javier González (basketball)
Javier Eduardo González Vejar (born April 15, 1989) is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player for the Vaqueros de Bayamón of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). High school González played for coach Marcos Rodriguez at Miami's Dr. Michael M. Krop High School in Miami, Florida. He averaged 20.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists as a senior. González was tabbed the Class 6-A Florida Player of the Year, First-team all-state and All-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Co-Player of the Year, Miami Herald's Player of the Year, Team reached the 6-A state quarterfinals, and finished 28-4. Earned Co-MVP honors at Florida's 2007 Senior Showcase. Led the East squad with 15 points and four assists in 18 minutes of action. Also finished second in the Three-Point Shootout. MVP of the Dade-Broward All-Star game, scoring all 12 points in the second half, 12 of the team's final 16 points for the win. Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Over time, as more specialized roles developed, each of the guards and forwards came to be differentiated, and today each of the five positions are known by unique names, each of which has also been assigned a number: point guard (PG) or 1, the shooting guard (SG) or 2, the small forward (SF) or 3, the power forward (PF) or 4, and the center (C) or 5. Sidney Lowe
Sidney Rochell Lowe (born January 21, 1960) is an American former basketball player and coach. He is currently an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Lowe played college basketball and served as the head coach at North Carolina State University (NC State). Biography Lowe began his career at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He played collegiate basketball at NC State. He was the point guard for the Wolfpack's 1983 NCAA National Championship. Lowe was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the 1st pick of the second round in the 1983 NBA Draft. He played a total of four seasons in the NBA, for five different teams. After retiring from basketball in 1991, Lowe took a job as an assistant coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Marchand Continental Championship Cup
The Jenaro "Tuto" Marchand Continental Championship Cup, or simply the Marchand Continental Cup, or Tuto Marchand Cup, is a warm-up friendly tournament for the FIBA Americas regional zone senior men's basketball championship, the FIBA Americas Championship. The tournament is often hosted by Puerto Rico. The tournament is named after Jenaro "Tuto" Marchand. 2015 FIBA Americas Championship
The 2015 FIBA Americas Championship for Men, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the FIBA Americas qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Brazil. The Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona.
