Javier Flaño
Javier 'Javi' Flaño Bezunartea (born 19 August 1984) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a right-back. He represented Spain up to under-23 level, and spent most of his career with Osasuna. Club career A product of hometown CA Osasuna's youth system, Flaño was born in Pamplona, and he made his debut with the first team in a La Liga 2–1 home win against Villarreal CF on 28 August 2005, going on to finish his first season with 31 games. Aged only 17, he began playing regularly with the reserves in the Segunda División B. Flaño remained an important fixture with the Navarrese the following campaign. Pamplona
Pamplona (; eu, Iruña or ), historically also known as Pampeluna in English, is the capital city of the Chartered Community of Navarre, in Spain. The 2005–06 La Liga season, the 75th since its establishment, started on 27 August 2005 and finished on 20 May 2006 due to all top-flight European leagues ending earlier than the previous season because of 2006 FIFA World Cup. In professional association football, a free transfer, also known as a Bosman transfer, involves a professional association football club releasing a player when the player's contract has expired or made available just before the end of the contract. The player can then go on to sign for any club offering a contract to them. How it works The club acquiring the player does not have to pay any compensation for their release due to having nothing left to pay on their contract, hence, the term free transfer. The 2006–07 UEFA Cup was the 36th UEFA Cup, Europe's second-tier club football tournament. On 16 May 2007, at Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland, Sevilla won their second consecutive UEFA Cup, defeating Espanyol 3–1 on penalties after the match finished 2–2 after extra time.
