Jason Webster
Jason Richmond Webster (born September 8, 1977) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Texas A&M and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft. Webster was also a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots. Early years Webster attended Willowridge High School in Missouri City, Texas, where he earned All-American honors in football. He also lettered four times in track. College career Made an immediate impact playing in every game with one start as a true freshman, recording 32 tackles and one interception. Started 12 games at cornerback as sophomore and finished with 61 tackles, one fumble recovery and a team-high nine passes deflected. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns. 2000 NFL Draft
The 2000 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur U.S. college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 15– 16, 2000, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. No teams chose to claim any players in the supplemental draft that year. The draft started with Penn State teammates Courtney Brown and LaVar Arrington being selected consecutively, making them the only Penn State players to go number one and two in the same draft. Tim McKyer
Timothy Bernard McKyer (born September 5, 1963) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1986 NFL Draft and played for seven different teams from 1986 to 1997. Biography McKyer attended Lincoln High School in Port Arthur, Texas, and then the University of Texas at Arlington. A 6'0", 174 lb. cornerback, McKyer is a three-time Super Bowl champion, two victories with the 49ers in 1988 and 1989 and one with the Denver Broncos in 1997. During his rookie season with San Francisco, he intercepted 6 passes for 33 yards and 1 touchdown. The National Football League Draft, also called the NFL Draft or (officially) the Player Selection Meeting, is an annual event which serves as the league's most common source of player recruitment. Each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative to its record in the previous year, which means that the last place team is positioned first and the Super Bowl champion is last. From this position, the team can either select a player or trade its position to another team for other draft positions, a player or players, or any combination thereof. The Alamo Bowl is an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision college football bowl game played annually since 1993 in the Alamodome in San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas. Aggie Bonfire
The Aggie Bonfire was a long-standing annual tradition at Texas A&M University as part of the college rivalry with the University of Texas at Austin. For 90 years, Texas A&M students—known as Aggies—built a bonfire on campus each autumn, known to the Aggie community simply as "Bonfire". The event symbolized Aggie students' "burning desire to beat the hell outta t.u.", a derogatory nickname for the University of Texas. The bonfire was traditionally lit around Thanksgiving in conjunction with festivities surrounding the annual football game. Early bonfires were little more than piles of trash, but the event gradually became more organized and eventually grew to an immense size, setting the world record in 1969.
