Jason Spice
Jason Edward Spice (born 7 December 1974) is a New Zealand international rugby union player and first-class cricketer. His position of choice is as a scrum-half. Spice was born in Matamata, NZ. He is a former New Zealand age-group cricketer who played for Hamilton in the Hawke Cup, then the Northern Districts Knights at first-class level, mainly as a left-arm spinner and lower-order batsman, before his position in the team was taken by Daniel Vettori. Spice then turned his attention to rugby, which he had also starred at in secondary school. He made the Waikato NPC team and played six games for the Blues in 1998 before transferring to Wellington, where he played 61 games for the province and 66 for the Hurricanes Super Rugby franchise. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Rugby is played in Cardiff in both rugby league and rugby union forms. Cardiff RFC and the Arms Park Between 2003 and 2009 there were two rugby union teams based at Cardiff Arms Park. The Hurricanes ( ; formerly the Wellington Hurricanes) is a New Zealand professional rugby union team based in Wellington that competes in Super Rugby. Daniel Luca Vettori (born 27 January 1979) is a New Zealand cricket coach and former cricketer who played for the New Zealand national cricket team. He was the 200th player to win their Test cricket cap for New Zealand. Vettori was the youngest male player to have represented New Zealand in Test cricket, making his debut in February 1997 at the age of 18. He captained New Zealand between 2007 and 2011 and is New Zealand's most-capped Test cricketer and One Day International cricketer, with 112 Test caps and 291 ODI caps.
