Jason Lloyd Phillips (born September 27, 1976) is an American professional baseball player and coach. He is the bullpen coach for the Trenton Thunder of the Class AA Eastern League. He played as a catcher and first baseman in Major League Baseball for the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Toronto Blue Jays. Playing career Jason made his major league debut with the New York Mets on September 19, . In , Phillips was tried out at first base and was also a backup catcher to Mike Piazza. That season he broke out, batting .298 with 11 home runs and 58 RBI. In , his offensive numbers dropped sharply, but through the entire season he only made one error. Jason Wesley Phillips (born February 14, 1986) is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas Christian University (TCU). Phillips also played for the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles. Early years Phillips played quarterback and linebacker at Waller High School in Waller, Texas, where he was coached by his father, Jim Phillips. He also served as the Bulldogs' long snapper. Jason Howell Phillips (born October 11, 1966) is the wide receivers coach for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is also a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football at the University of Houston. Early years Phillips attended Ross Sterling High School, where he received All-District and All-Greater Houston honors as a senior quarterback. After high school he joined Taft Junior College, receiving All-Conference honors as a freshman quarterback. He was converted into a wide receiver as a sophomore.
