Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. The wicket-keeper is the only member of the fielding side permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. The role of the keeper is governed by Law 27 of the Laws of Cricket. In cricket, batting is the act or skill of hitting the ball with a bat to score runs and prevent the loss of one's wicket. Any player who is currently batting is, since September 2021, officially referred to as a batter (historically, the terms "batsman" and "batswoman" were used), regardless of whether batting is their particular area of expertise. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Guernsey Cricket Team
The Guernsey cricket team is the team that represents the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a Crown dependency in international cricket. They became a member in 2005 and an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2008. The 2016 ICC World Cricket League Division Five was an international cricket tournament that took place in Jersey during May 2016. It formed part of the 2012–18 ICC World Cricket League, 2012–18 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL). The Jersey Cricket Board were awarded the hosting rights in October 2015, with the Nigeria Cricket Federation the only other bidder. The competition's final was played at the Grainville Cricket Ground in Saint Saviour, Jersey, Saint Saviour, with Jersey national cricket team, Jersey defeating Oman cricket team, Oman by 44 runs. Twenty20 International
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. Isle Of Man Cricket Team In Guernsey In 2020
The Isle of Man cricket team toured Guernsey from 18 to 22 August 2020 to play various age-group and senior matches, including a single Twenty20 International (T20I), against the hosts. The tour included various matches played between the under-13, under-15 and under-17 teams of each nation, including 20, 45 and 50-over formats. The senior teams played a three-match T20 series, with the first of those matches being an official T20I played on 21 August at College Field in Saint Peter Port. This was the first official T20I match played by Isle of Man since the International Cricket Council's decision to grant T20I status to all matches played between Associate Members from 1 January 2019.
