Jason Christie
Jason Christie (born April 25, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He is currently an assistant coach with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. He was previously the head coach of the Bloomington PrairieThunder in the Central Hockey League (CHL), the Ontario Reign and the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL. On December 10, 2015, Christie became the winningest head coach in ECHL history when his Tulsa Oilers defeated the Idaho Steelheads 4–2 at home in Tulsa's BOK Center. On June 6, 2017, Christie was named vice president of hockey operations and head coach for the Jacksonville Icemen. After four seasons in Jacksonville, he was hired by the Sabres as an assistant coach. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. The 2011–12 ECHL season was the 24th season of the ECHL. The regular season schedule ran from October 4, 2011 to March 31, 2012 and was followed by the 2012 Kelly Cup playoffs beginning on April 2, 2012. The Utah Grizzlies are a professional ice hockey team in the ECHL. They play their home games at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. Franchise history The current Utah Grizzlies franchise started in 1981 as the Nashville South Stars in Nashville, Tennessee, in the Central Hockey League. Henry Brabham then took over the team in 1983 and relocated them to Vinton, Virginia mid-season, to become the Virginia Lancers.
