Jason Barsley
Jason Barsley (born 10 March 1978) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League. He primarily played at and on the . Playing career Born in Brisbane, Queensland, Barsley played his junior rugby league for the Mareeba Gladiators before playing for the Cairns Cyclones and Central Comets in the Queensland Cup. He joined the North Queensland Cowboys for the 2003 season. In Round 13 of the 2003 NRL season, he made his NRL debut in the Cowboys' 24–28 golden point loss to the Penrith Panthers, scoring a try. He added two more NRL games for the Cowboys in his debut season, spending the majority of the season playing for the North Queensland Young Guns in the Queensland Cup. In 2004, Barsley joined the Easts Tigers. Queensland Residents Rugby League Team
The Queensland Residents rugby league team is a representative rugby league team consisting of players who compete in the Intrust Super Cup (Queensland Cup) competition. They currently play an annual fixture against NSW Cup Representative Team, often as a curtain raiser to a State of Origin game. The team is administered by the Queensland Rugby League and regularly played its home matches at Suncorp Stadium, until 2015, when they starting playing at Brisbane's Langlands Park (now known as Suzuki Stadium). Up until 1995, the side played against touring international sides and went on tours to countries like New Zealand and France. 2003 North Queensland Cowboys Season
The 2003 North Queensland Cowboys season was the 9th in the club's history. Coached by Graham Murray and captained by Paul Bowman, they competed in the NRL's 2003 Telstra Premiership. Although the club once again finished 11th, they recorded their highest number of wins (10) and competition points (24) in a season. Season summary The rebuild continued for the Cowboys heading into the 2003 season, with 12 players leaving the club. Their key signings included premiership-winning back rower Kevin Campion, New Zealand international prop Paul Rauhihi and journeyman utility David Myles. All three would eventually help the club to their first finals appearance a year later. St George Illawarra Dragons
The St. George Illawarra Dragons is an Australian professional rugby league football club, representing both the Illawarra and St George regions of New South Wales. The club has competed in the National Rugby League since 1999 after a joint-venture was formed between the St. George Dragons (est. 1921) and the Illawarra Steelers (est. 1982). They officially formed as the game's first joint-venture club on 23 September 1998 and it remains the only inter-city team in the NRL. The team has its headquarters and leagues clubs in both Wollongong and the Sydney suburb of Kogarah, and trains and plays games regularly at WIN Stadium in Wollongong, as well as at Jubilee Oval in Kogarah.
