Jason Arnberger
Jason Lee Arnberger (born 18 November 1972 in Penrith, New South Wales) is an Australian first-class cricketer who played for the Victorian Bushrangers and New South Wales Blues in Australian domestic cricket. He was a right-handed opening batsman. Arnberger's nickname is "Cheese". Arnberger started his career with NSW but in 1997-98 he moved to Victoria as the presence of Mark Taylor and Michael Slater at the top of the order had made it difficult for him to get a game. Aged 31, he suffered a back injury which nearly ended his career but he came back strongly, scoring 639 runs with three hundreds and repeated his good performance with 721 at 45.06 the following season as he went on to win the Player of the Year award. His highest First Class score came against New South Wales in Lismore, making 239 not out. He finished his career in seventh place on Victoria's leading run getters with 5505 at 42.01. Michael Slater
Michael Jonathon Slater (born 21 February 1970) is an Australian former professional cricketer and former television presenter. He played in 74 Test matches and 42 One Day Internationals for the Australia national cricket team. Early life Slater was born in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales and lived in both Wagga and Junee for his childhood. His parents, PeterSlater and Apter (2005), p. ix. and Carole and two older siblings had emigrated from the north-eastern coast of England in 1966 to Launceston, Tasmania, Australia where his father taught high school agriculture and science. Mark Taylor (cricketer)
Mark Anthony Taylor (born 27 October 1964) is a former Australian cricketer and current Nine Network commentator. He was Test opening batsman from 1988 to 1999, as well as captain from 1994 to 1999, succeeding Allan Border. His predominant fielding position was first slip. He was widely regarded as an instrumental component in Australia's rise to Test cricket dominance, and his captaincy was regarded as adventurous and highly effective. However, he was considered less than ideal for One-Day International cricket and was eventually dropped as one-day captain after a 0–3 drubbing at the hands of England in 1997. He moved to Wagga Wagga in 1972 and played for Lake Albert Cricket Club. His debut was for New South Wales in 1985. He retired from Test cricket on 2 February 1999. Victorian Bushrangers
The Victoria men’s cricket team is an Australian first-class men's cricket team based in Melbourne, Victoria. The men’s team, which first played in 1851, represents the state of Victoria in the Marsh Sheffield Shield first-class competition and the Marsh One Day Cup 50-over competition. It was known as the Victorian Bushrangers between 1995 and 2018, before dropping the Bushrangers nickname and electing to be known as simply Victoria in all cricket competitions. Victoria shares home matches between the Melbourne Cricket Ground in East Melbourne and the Junction Oval in St Kilda. The team is administered by Cricket Victoria and draws its players primarily from Victoria's Premier Cricket competition along with players from throughout the country. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs.
