Jaryd Emanuel Jones-Smith (born September 3, 1995) is an American football offensive tackle for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Pittsburgh and has been a member of teams in the NFL, Alliance of American Football (AAF), and XFL. Professional career Houston Texans Jones-Smith signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft on May 11, 2020. He was waived during final roster cuts on September 1, 2018. San Antonio Commanders Jones-Smith signed with the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) in 2019. He played in all eight games during the 2019 AAF season before the league folded in April 2019. Alliance Of American Football
The Alliance of American Football (AAF) was a professional American football minor league. The AAF consisted of eight centrally owned and operated teams in the southern and western United States, seven of which were located in metropolitan areas with at least one major professional sports franchise. Founded by Charlie Ebersol and Bill Polian in 2018, the AAF began play on February 9, 2019. The league was scheduled to have a 10-week regular season and conclude with a championship game on April 27. After eight weeks of play, however, the league's football operations were suspended by controlling owner Thomas Dundon on April 2.
