Jaryd Cachia
Jaryd Cachia (born 8 May 1991) is an Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton in the Australian Football League (AFL). The grandson of Terry Benton, Cachia played school football for St Kevin's College before joining the Northern Knights. He co-captained the Victorian Metropolitan Under 16s team with Tom Scully in the national competition. He played his first TAC Cup game for the Knights at the age of 16 in 2007, eventually playing 21 games for the Knights over three years. AFL career Cachia was drafted by the Carlton Football Club with its first round selection in the 2010 AFL rookie draft (No. 15 overall). He spent two seasons playing in the senior team of Carlton's , the Northern Bullants, but did not play an AFL game for Carlton during this time. At the conclusion of the 2011 Australian Football League season, Cachia was delisted by the Carlton Football Club. Northern Knights
The Northern Knights is an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based in Preston, representing the northern suburban area of Melbourne. The Knights are one of the six original clubs set up as part of a plan by the Victorian State Football League to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. Strathmore Football Club
Strathmore Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 7 km north west of Melbourne in the suburb of Strathmore and was founded in 1954 as a junior club. The senior club was established in 1957. The club originally played its home games in Pascoe Vale before moving to its current home at Lebanon Reserve in Strathmore. The club won its seventh A Grade Premiership in 2011 with a win over rivals Oak Park. Strathmore came into the game underdogs after losing the semi final to Oak Park by 37 points. However, Strathmore prevailed; the final scores were Oak Park 11.13 (79) def. by Strathmore 11.15 (81). Victorian Amateur Football League
The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) is the largest senior community Australian rules football competition in Victoria. It consists of seven senior men's and women's divisions ranging from Premier to Division 4. In addition there are U19's sections and five Thirds sections, primarily made up of either clubs only able to field one team, or clubs from higher sections that can field a third team after their seniors and reserves. The league operates a double promotion and relegation system between sections with various rules dictating which section clubs can play in.
