Jarrapellejos
''Jarrapellejos'' is a 1988 Spanish drama film directed by Antonio Giménez-Rico based on the 1914 novel of the same name by Felipe Trigo. Set in La Joya, Extremadura, the plot straddles between the social denunciation and the costumbrismo, ''costumbrista'' portrait, featuring the misdeeds of local ''cacique'' Jarrapellejos. Cast Release Distributed by Warner Española, the film was released theatrically in Spain on 19 February 1988. It was entered into the 38th Berlin International Film Festival. Antonio Giménez-Rico Sáenz de Cabezón (20 November 1938 – 12 February 2021) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. The 38th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 12 to 23 February 1988. The festival opened with musical film ''Linie 1'' by Reinhard Hauff. The Golden Bear was awarded to the Chinese film '' Red Sorghum'' directed by Zhang Yimou. The retrospective was dedicated to colour films and it was titled ''The History of Colour Film''. José María Coronado García (born 14 August 1957) is a Spanish film and television actor and former model. His performances playing (often corrupt and/or morally dubious) law enforcement officer roles have brought him some of the greatest successes of his career.
