François Jaros (born October 15, 1985) is a Canadian film and television director from Montreal, Quebec. He is a two-time winner of the award for Best Live Action Short Film at the Prix Jutra/Iris, winning at the 17th Jutra Awards in 2015 for '' Life's a Bitch (Toutes des connes)'' and at the 18th Quebec Cinema Awards in 2016 for '' Maurice''. For '' Maurice'' he was also awarded at Fantasia's International Short Film Competition. Ralf Jaros (born 13 December 1965, in Düsseldorf) is a former German triple jumper. With a height of 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in), he had a competition weight of 85 kg (187 lb). On 30 June 1991, in the European Cup, Ralf Jaros set a German triple jump record of 17.66 meters (57 ft 11 in) while defeating the nearest competitor by nearly 72 cm (28 in). This remains the current national record in the event. At the age of 18, Ralf Jaros made his international debut in the 1984 Olympic Games. He finished in the seventeenth position in the qualification round. Stanisław Jaros (January 19, 1932 – January 5, 1963) was a Polish electrician who was executed for carrying out two assassination attempts on Polish Communist leader Władysław Gomułka, and one attempt to kill Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev. Background Little is known about Jaros’ background. He was born into a working-class family in Zagórze (now a district of Sosnowiec), did not graduate from any schools, and was self-taught. Unlike most Poles during the Communist era, he did not hold down a permanent job, supporting himself mostly through services he rendered to the local population, in which he used his knowledge of electromechanics. Jaros did not have a wife or children, lived in Zagórze with his mother, and had a sister. Anthony Joseph Jaros (February 22, 1920 – April 22, 1995) was an American professional basketball player who won two championships with the Minneapolis Lakers, one in the Basketball Association of America (BAA) and one in the newly-formed National Basketball Association (NBA). A 6'3" (1.90 m) forward/guard from the University of Minnesota, Jaros played four seasons (1946–1947; 1948–1951) in the Basketball Association of America/National Basketball Association as a member of the Chicago Stags and Minneapolis Lakers. He averaged 5.4 points per game in his BAA/NBA career and won two league championships with the Lakers.
