Jarmila Šuláková
Jarmila Šuláková (27 June 1929 – 11 February 2017) was a Czech vocalist and occasional actress. She was a significant exponent of Moravian traditional music, sometimes called the "queen of the folk song". She was born in Vsetín, Moravian Wallachia, into an artistic family. Her mother was an actress, dancer and singer, her father was a musician. She studied to be a seamstress. In 1950 she began working as a sales assistant in the Supraphon shop in Vsetín, where she remained until her retirement in 1985. She married the violinist Ludvík Schmidt (died in 1970). They had one child, daughter Zuzana. Šuláková sang in various ensembles since her school years. Deník
''Deník'' is a regional daily newspaper in the Czech Republic. History and profile ''Denik'' is published by Vltava Labe Media (VLM), which since November 2015 is owned by Penta Investments. Before that it was owned by German publishing company Verlagsgruppe Passau (VGP). VGP has a monopoly on the Czech regional press. In September 2006, regional newspapers across the country were rebranded to ''Deník'' with a regional adjective appended, e.g. Pražský deník (Prague deník). As well as the Prague version, a further 72 regional newspapers were branded as part of this launch. The 2007 circulation of the paper was 328,319 copies, making it the second most read paper in the country. The circulation of ''Deník'' was 295,307 copies in 2008 and 247,987 copies in 2009. It was 224,122 copies in 2010 and 204,084 copies in 2011. Czech Radio
Český rozhlas (ČRo) is the public radio broadcaster of the Czech Republic operating since 1923. It is the oldest radio broadcaster in continental Europe and the second oldest in Europe after the BBC. The service broadcasts throughout the Czech Republic nationally and locally. Its four national services are Radiožurnál, Dvojka, Vltava and Plus. Czech Radio operates 12 nationwide stations and another 14 regional stations. All ČRo stations broadcast via internet stream, digital via DAB+ and DVB, and part analog via terrestrial transmitters. World Festival Of Youth And Students
The World Festival of Youth and Students is an international event organized by the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) and the International Union of Students after 1947. History The festival has been held regularly since 1947 as an event of global youth solidarity for democracy and against war and imperialism. The largest festival was the 6th World Festival of Youth and Students, 6th, held in 1957 in Moscow, when 34,000 young people from 131 countries attended the event. This festival also marked the international debut of the song "Moscow Nights", which subsequently went on to become a widely recognized Russian song. There were no festivals between 1962 and 1968, as events proposed in Algeria and then Ghana were cancelled due to coups and political turmoil in both countries. National Artist is an honorary title issued by some states as a highest recognition of artists for their significant contributions to the cultural heritage of the nation.
