Jaren is the administrative centre of Gran Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located about to the northwest of the capital city of Oslo. The lake Randsfjorden (Norway's fourth largest lake) lies about west of Jaren. The village of Brandbu lies about to the northwest and the villages of Ringstad and Gran lie about to the southeast. Jaren and its neighboring village of Brandbu have grown together through conurbation and Statistics Norway has considered them as one, single urban settlement for many years. Old Tingelstad Church
Old Tingelstad Church ( no, Tingelstad gamle kirke) is a former parish church of the Church of Norway in Gran Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Tingelstad. It is part of the Gran/Tingelstad parish which is part of the Hadeland og Land prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The gray, stone church was built in a long church design around the year 1220 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 110 people. Hadeland Folkemuseum is a regional museum for Hadeland ( Gran, Lunner and Jevnaker). It was founded in 1913, and is located in Tingelstad in Gran. The museum is situated along ''Kongevegen'' (The King's Road), the road from Oslo to Bergen which passes through Hadeland. Moen Church ( no, Moen kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Gran Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the northern part of the village of Jaren. Jaren Station
Jaren Station ( no, Jaren stasjon) is a railway station located at Jaren in Oppland, Norway. The station is the terminus for the Oslo Commuter Rail, but is also served by regional trains that continue to Gjøvik. Both services are provided by Vy Gjøvikbanen. History The station was opened in 1900 as a station on the North Line between Grefsen and Røykenvik. In 1902 the extension from Jaren to Gjøvik was finished, and the line changed name to the Gjøvik Line. The branch line to Røykenvik too the name Røykenvik Line. The branch was abandoned in 1957. Norwegian National Road 4 ( no, Riksvei 4, ) is a national road in Norway which is the main route north from the capital city of Oslo to the junction with the European route E6 highway at the village of Biri in Gjøvik Municipality. The road runs through Nittedal, Hadeland, and Toten to its terminus on the shore of the lake Mjøsa. In 2021, the government began studying ways to improve the road to allieviate traffic problems. Route The southern terminus of the road is at a roundabout intersection where the roads ''Trondheimsveien'' and ''Fagerheimsgata'' meet in the Sinsen neighborhood of the city of Oslo. Conurbation
A conurbation is a region comprising a number of metropolises, cities, large towns, and other urban areas which through population growth and physical expansion, have merged to form one continuous urban or industrially developed area. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag.
