National Route 138 is a national highway of Japan connecting Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi and Odawara, Kanagawa in Japan, with a total length of 61.4 km (38.15 mi). Route description The highway connects Odawara in the western side of Kanagawa Prefecture to Fujiyoshida, a city on the northern side of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture. From its eastern terminus at National Routes 1 and 255 in Odawara, the road travels west to the eastern limit of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. The highway travels through the northern portion of the park, exiting it at its northwestern corner. Next the highway has a junction with the Tōmei Expressway in Gotemba. It then travels across the city and then enters the neighboring town, Oyama. In Oyama, the road has a junction with Higashifuji-goko Road. Odawara-Atsugi Road
The is a 4-laned toll road in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is owned and managed by Central Nippon Expressway Company. Route description Officially the road is designated as National Route 271 as well as E85 under their "Expressway Numbering System." The entire road is built to a standard similar to that of an urban expressway and is classified as a road for (motor vehicles must have a displacement of at least 125 cc). The road connects western Kanagawa Prefecture (including the popular onsen resort town of Hakone) with Tokyo through the Tōmei Expressway. The route parallels Route 1 until Ōiso, where it then follows a northeasterly route through Hiratsuka and Isehara before terminating in Atsugi. The road was opened in 1969 with 2 lanes. The (lit. New Hakone Road) is a 2-laned toll road in Hakone, Kanagawa, Japan. It is owned and managed by Central Nippon Expressway Company. Overview Officially the road is designated as a bypass for National Route 1. It is also classified as a road for and access is controlled with interchanges in a similar manner to national expressways in Japan. However unlike most other roads operated by Central Nippon Expressway Company, the Hakone Shindō is not designed for high speeds due to the steep gradient and sharp turns. The road originates in the town of Hakone and follows a westerly course, ascending into mountainous areas. Tōkaidō (road)
The , which roughly means "eastern sea route," was the most important of the Five Routes of the Edo period in Japan, connecting Kyoto to Edo (modern-day Tokyo). Unlike the inland and less heavily travelled Nakasendō, the Tōkaidō travelled along the sea coast of eastern Honshū, hence the route's name. is a terminal railway station on the Hakone Tozan Line as well as the Hakone Tozan Cable Car, and is located in Hakone, Kanagawa, Japan. Lake Ashi
, also referred to as Hakone Lake or Ashinoko Lake, is a scenic lake in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture in Honshū, Japan. It is a crater lake that lies along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mount Hakone, a complex volcano that last erupted in 1170 CE at Ōwakudani. The lake is known for its views of Mount Fuji, its numerous hot springs, historical sites, and ryokan. The lake is located on the Tōkaidō road, the main link between Kyoto and Tokyo. A number of pleasure boats and ferries traverse the lake, providing scenic views for tourists and passengers. Several of the boats are inspired by the design of sailing warships. Most visitors to Lake Ashi stay in one of the hotels or ryokan located in the area to visit some of the local attractions. There is also a campsite at the north end of the lake.
