Japan Model Racing Car Association
is a governing body for radio controlled car racing in Japan. As it represents domestic racing in Japan, the JMRCA is affiliated with IFMAR History It was founded in February 1971 with the backing of Kyosho, the industry leader at the time, to feed on an increasing demand for R/C car racing popularised by U.S. military personnels stationed in Japan in preparation for the Vietnam War. Its first race was the First Japan-America Goodwill RC Car Race at the following month, hosted jointly by the JMRCA and the U.S. Air Force Model Club held at their Tokyo Tachikawa Base. One of its first races hosted by JMRCA was a championship race for 1/8 scale racing cars produced by Kyosho. International Federation Of Model Auto Racing
The International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR) is the world governing body of professional radio controlled car racing. The organization was created in 1979 by professional racer and RC model entrepreneur Ted Longshaw. At that time, many different governing bodies operated under their own rules throughout the world. IFMAR was conceived as a way to bring the different, fragmented organizations under a single, governing body. IFMAR's constitution also promotes international friendship and sportsmanship. Each of the member blocs organises the IFMAR World Championship event on behalf of IFMAR. Masami Hirosaka is perhaps the world's most distinguished racer. Fuji Speedway
is a motorsport race track standing in the foothills of Mount Fuji, in Oyama, Suntō District, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It was built in the early 1960s. In the 1980s, Fuji Speedway was used for the FIA World Sportscar Championship and national racing. is an airfield in the city of Tachikawa, the western part of Tokyo, Japan. Currently under the administration of the Ministry of Defense, it has also served as the civil aviation with Japan's first scheduled air service. Kyosho
is a Japanese company based in Tokyo, which operates internationally under the name KYOSHO. The company's main office is located in Chiyoda, and the production headquarters are located in Atsugi, Kanagawa. Established in October 1963, Kyosho created its first trademark radio-controlled model car in 1970, being one of the oldest RC makers in Japan, and producing a wide variety of products, including cars, airplanes, helicopters, and boats.
